Parish Council Increased Status
March 2, 2008
March 2008 marks a significant step forward for the Long Itchington Parish Council because it has just been awarded Quality Status by a local government accreditation panel.
This means that the hard work, achievements and competence of your parish councillors and clerk, aided by their helpers and committees, have now been recognised as meeting all the standards expected of the best parish and town councils.
As well as a closer association with local authorities, this award also means that your parish council is well placed, following recent legislation, to take advantage of any increased powers passed down to grass roots level to assist in improving the wellbeing of the community. Well done all concerned!
